In 1937 on the East Side of Detroit, two brothers bought a single Swiss SIP jig borer and Precision Boring was born. We started our next chapter a few years ago with a new name, Precision Advanced Machining.
In our 87 year history, we’ve become known for custom component machining and manufacturing. Yet, our success is not based solely on our ability to produce a superior product; it’s built on our relationships with our customers. We adhere to the values that have made this company a leader: integrity, craftsmanship, and communication.
Owned by Jerry Decker, we employ over 50 machinists, engineers, and support staff from our community. Together, we solve problems, meet customer requirements, and exceed expectations. From the single jig borer in 1937, we’ve acquired a multi-million dollar portfolio of the latest equipment so we can serve our customers better. We have a manufacturing floor equipped with the latest technology, allowing us to reach levels of precision that few can match. Our product is excellent and so are our people. We're AS9100:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Precision’s diverse employees are committed to the success of our customers, to getting the job done right the first time, and to working efficiently. This combination of people and talent makes Precision your preferred partner for all of your precision component machining, large 5-axis machining, large OD/ID grinding, and large part turning needs.
At Precision, we’re all about creating win-win scenarios. We want to provide you with the part you need, when you need it, at a fair price. It’s the way we’ve always done business, and it’s part of the reason we’ve been so successful. Few businesses in our industry can boast an 87 year history and even fewer businesses across the country can boast a successful transition to a third generation of family ownership. Yet, we’ve done it. It’s not just a marketing line, it’s who we are. We want to use our technology, equipment, and expertise to help solve your problems. We want you to walk away from a transaction with us knowing that you’ve done business with an honest company.
A lot of shops talk about their quality of work, but we go way beyond quality. We see ourselves as more than just machinists and engineers; we’re craftsmen. Everyday, we work to improve our talent, skills, and competency in order to grow in our craft. We take outrageous pride in our work and not a single part leaves our shop without it being perfect. We work through challenges, overcome technical issues, and perform the job we promised. Our passion for our products leads us to even greater levels of quality, precision, and efficiency. When you receive your finished part from us, you’ll know that your requirements were met and that the work done was first rate, done by the best machinists in Detroit.
Open communication isn’t an easy promise to keep. Customers can become frustrated when the shop that they’re working with stops answering phone calls or is slow to respond. At Precision, we do things a little differently. We understand that timely communication can reduce waste and consequently reduce cost. You’ll work with one of our experienced engineers who will be prompt and timely in responding to all of your inquires. This engineer will stay with you from start to finish, so you’ll always know who to call. We’ll keep you fully apprised of the status of your job so that you can track its progress and be confident that we’ll finish your job on time.
We’re QA certified to AS9100:2016 Rev D & ISO 9001:2015 standards.
